I’m excited to be participating in my first holiday fairs this December! I’m a big fan of holiday fairs and try to save the bulk of my holiday shopping for them every year. I love meeting the makers, discovering unique products, and especially giving handmade gifts. I find them to be a refreshing alternative to the mass commercialism of Christmas.

My all-time favorite craft fair is Renegade. It’s the biggest and best marketplace to find beautifully handcrafted products from today’s most creative and talented independent artists and designers. It started in Chicago seven years ago and now has expanded to six cities. All the fairs are individually juried and the organizers do an amazing job of ensuring each show features an eclectic mix of new and returning designers. I am thrilled to be a part of the San Francisco show this year!

SFMade is a local organization I joined right after I opened for business. Their mission is to promote local small businesses and support locally made products. With so much of our manufacturing going overseas, it’s great to have an organization that is helping to keep manufacturing (and jobs) right here at home. Of course, San Francisco has always been a creative hub so it is no surprise that SFMade’s member companies also produce some of the best products around. Their 2nd annual holiday fair will feature over 75 of them, including yours truly!
